I shot a short film yesterday and unfortunatly my firestore refused to work and was permantley stuck on the please wait screen...
So i had to shoot on DV not a problem can watch back the footage on my camera
but when i try to capture the footage the audio still runs but the frame stick and i record just 3.2 secs of footage before the error message comes up that there is a problem with the footage on my source tape.

I have tried a different tape shot with a pd150 and the same thing happens

I am using g5dual 1.8 ghz with 4.5 ram
and two internal hard drives

If anybody has any suggestions that would be great

Many Thanks

Tony

Mmm... FCP 5.1.3 is available for download since a couple of weeks (check the automatic updates). FCP 5.1.3 doesn't add any features, but corrects several bugs. I think that would be a good start...

5.1.3 broke things, 5.1.4 fixed them, works, stable.

If your FS gets stuck on a screen, pull the battery out, then put it back in, then turn it back on. Then call Focus, it shouldn't "stick" on any screen. Make sure you have the latest version of the firmware (3.0).

Thanks guys

I will try the updates

I have the latest firmware for my firestore but i didn't want to change it just incase it didnt work properly (how ironic).

I tried taking the battery out and numerous different things but it still wouldn't go past the please wait screen.
I have not had any problems with the firestore untill yesterday which was very frustrating!!!!

I will try the updates

Thanks

As i shot in DV widescreen i did not choose anamorphic so this is why it was failing to capture which seems odd!

BUt i changed the settings and it worked?:dankk2:
