I've been offloading my P2 card to my 15" PowerBook and am not able to backup the files to a DVDR. I copy the entire content of the P2 (LASTCLIP.TXT and CONTENTS) over to the hard drive and try to burn from there. I'm using Toast 7 and every attempt gives me an "Illegal File Format" error. I have never seen this error message before using Toast.
I tried buring the files straight from the internal hard drive, as well as from USB and FW drives. I even moved the files over to a dual G4 and got the same error. I can burn the MOV files that are imported through FCP just fine, but not any of the P2 content.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a weird problem with Toast? It seems to me that a file is a file, but only the contents of the P2 are giving me this problem.
Any thoughts?
