Did a search and found a thread that had some advice; however I was hoping to get a bit more in regards to the ProAim package that Cinecity offers that can be found here: http://www.thecinecity.com/eshop/product.php?productid=255

t's cheap, coming in at ~$650 whereas RedRock and other rigs are near ~$3,000. That's a big difference and as a result I'm assuming the quality to be far inferior to RedRock's. My question is how much of a drop-off? I typically avoid run-and-gun scenarios though I'm not completely removed from the practice. I don't want something that's going to fall apart and be a complete waste of money (because let's face it, $650 is still a decent chunk of change). Has anyone used this rig? I figure with my t2i it'll be at least ok; however if it isn't even worth the hassle I can hold off.

Also, regarding cinecity - are they fairly reputable? I've seen mixed reviews that have both praised and criticized their shipping methods (they're located in India).

Thanks guys/gals for any and all input!

I bought the baseplate in that kit you linked, and it's alright. Quite similar to the Redrock model, though it's clearly not as well engineered. One of the knobs cracked during a shoot and i couldn't tighten the camera to the baseplate, but I emailed them and told them the issue, as I was in my extremely short 3 month warranty period, and they sent me some replacement knobs and screws.
The baseplate is alright. The only thing is that I wish it was a bit easier to take off - if you have a rig setup with the baseplate, rails, follow focus, and monitor like I do, then almost everything has to be loosened to get it out. Basically need a proper quick release plate.

I haven't dealt with any chinese models other than a lilliput monitor and a magic arm, but I've heard good things, and they look alright.
