Pro Level to Consumer line

I have a Shure FP24. It seems this is an earlier model without the Prosumer friendly tape-out.

How do I get my el cheapo Microtrack to love it?

Is there an off the shelf line level attenuator I can buy? Is that the right way to go?

The MicroTrack has 1/4" inputs that can be set for line-level. A simple y-cable (1/8" TRS to dual 1/4" TS) should do you fine.

Seemingly only -10dB though. Not the FP24's +4dB output.
You can convert by insterting an inline pad in each leg of the output. Because of the different 0 reference voltages of the two units, -10dBv is equivalent to approximately -7.75dBu. You need approximately 12dB of attenuation to knock the +4dBu studio line level down to the -10dBv consumer line level. A -10 or -15 dB inline pad would be close enough or you can make your own by putting a simple resister network in each XLR plug.

Sorry... misread your original post. That's really weird, since the FP24 and the Sound Devices MixPre are the same thing. I've never known them not to have the Tape Out. So yeah, Steve's suggestion would be a great solution.

However, I've looked up specs for the MicroTrack and the 1/4" inputs are TRS balanced. So it should accept +4dBu. Do you have a link to specs that say differently?
