Printing to tape

I.ve been trying for over 2 hours and have been on and off this forum with no answers, and it is nearing 2.30am...I shot a project in 720p24pn [but it is in a a 720p60p setup in Final Cut Pro...not sure if that is correct, but whatever, I edited and it is fine]. I have to get a minidv copy of it for tomorrow and have tried to hook the camera up and dub the file over...tried putting the clips on a dv50 23.98 timeline...tried everything, I can get the video and audio to pump through to the camera, but it only displays the frames when I stop the playback. It records all the audio, but no video. When I pause the playback it will show the current playhead position, but nothing else...I.ve tried EVERY audio/visual setup combination...any help?

Thanks,
Mark.

Ok.... this is wierd... I just had that same challenge. I hadn't ever had a need to go back to tape before, but here's what I did. I used compressor to make a DV NTSC Anamorphic file from my project, dropped it on a fresh DV NTSC Anamorphic sequence and sent it out to tape just fine. Haven't seen it on a tv yet to know if I'll have any problems because of the change in frame rate, but I think it's going to look fine.

The other thing you could do is send it out to the HVX with it in the mode that matches your sequence and then dub it down to tape. I've done that before for variable framerate stuff before I had FCP. Don't remember the steps though, check the manual it was pretty easy.

I had read that solution on another board, and I tried it, but the file I got was really artifacted...like unusably so. I.m not sure why....I just used the normal NTSC anamorphic settings....?

I just re-read your post, your original sequence should have been DVCproHD 720 24p. That may have been your problem.
