Print to camera

I am trying to output a project shot 720p back to the camera/p2 cards from an EdiusBroadcast timeline for entry in the Nashville Film Festival. From the camera the post house will convert to DigiBeta. I tried the Quicktime route which was not good, and the post house said bringing in the camera would be the best method.
The project is 80 minutes and I have 2 16gig cards. I think that may be just enough space.
What settings will I need for the camera and output settings for Edius?

Thanks

$45 will buy you software called P2Forge. It will convert your P2 media into MPEG format and create a DVD for you.

Thanks but I just want to go from the timeline back to the P2 and then take that to Post house for DigiBeta tape.

Authoring a DVD is never an automated task. An encoder may supply m2v/mpeg2 and AC3 audio, but how you utilize the encoder and the authoring environment isn't automated.

It's part art and part science.

Connect your HVX via USB to the PC. Settings: 720pN.
Print to File - HD P2 Clip (HD P2 Clip Exporter Plug-in)
That's all.

I cannot seem to get the computer to recognize the camera. Is there a camera setting required?

Thanks

Still not able to get it working. From Edius Broadcast I go to File, Print, Print to File, Select P2. Choose destination as P2 but the OK button is greyed out and cannot be selected.

The device is connected via Firewire to the computer.

The camera is set to dub but I have also tried with it on PC.

What am I doing wrong?

Here is what I would do: use Print to File with the HD P2 Clip exporter, but output to a folder on your hard drive instead of a P2 card.

You can do that with an external drive and send the drive to the post house, or you can copy the resulting files to DVDs. None of the individual files will be larger than what a single-layer 4.7FB DVD can hold.

This way you don't have to give up your expensive P2 cards, and you won't have a problem if the project doesn't fit onto your two 16GB cards.

I have tried to connect with USB but for some reason both computers do not recognize the USB but do see the Firewire. I think I am using the fastest usb.

And the reason I was trying to print to P2 was the post house said that it would be the cost of a straight dub instead of computer time. I am heading to the post house now and will keep you posted :).
