Pricing F5 F55

That would have to be some group buy list ...

We also have contractual obligations, plus we have to keep the lights on here.

But there are always bits & pieces that any camera kit needs and we're hard at work on cool toys, plus ways to help you afford them.

FWIW; just got an email from Sony Canada, Canadian prices are listed the same as US prices, for the canadians out there.

The "global shutter" on the F55 is interesting. Seems like digital "still" cameras have been moving higher and higher in terms of stills per second. Once they hit 24 stills per second, isn't that a "global shutter" in the cinema world?

Without question I'm sold on the F5 and RAW recorder, since RAW is all I ever wanted.

The question now is who here will spend the extra $15k for global shutter, 4k internal rec., and a CFA with extended color gamuts exceeding that of film?

Done... You forgot to add OLED VF.

Isn't there something about OLEDS having a short life span? Pretty inconvinient for such an expensive unit.
Don't know about the state of OLED tech today, but they did used to have color components that aged differently, like early CRTs. This is why the first OLEDs went into production on phones, most people don't keep them for more than a couple years anyway.
The short-term benefit, in any case, is very rich colors, perfect blacks, and 0ms response time compared to LCD.

Just get an extended 5 year warranty on it (3rd party if you have to), that way if the OLED goes bad, you get a shiny new one.

The PVM OLED monitor panels are rated at 15,000 hours if operated 24 hours a day, and 25,000 hours if operated 16 hours a day. These numbers are from Sony. I own one, I stashed the figures when I found them.

I realize this might not mean anything for the OLED EVF, but I think it's encouraging.

I only seem to put 300 hours/year on a camera at most, when I'm screaming busy as an owner/op, so I'm not too worried.
