Pricing F5 F55

Wuhooo!!! There goes the BOMB!!!

Hopefully more will follow the suites and drop prices --> wishful thinking to be honest :)

Thanks for the info

Thanks for reposting that Rob. Here's my more complete list of (approximate) pricing, should serve as a rough idea for pricing on the new cameras and accessories:

F55: $32k
F5: $19k
R5 Raw Recorder: $5.6k
OLED EVF: $6.3k
Regular EVF: $3.7k
7" LCD Screen: $5.1k
Olivine Batteries: $562
Raw Media Card Reader: $742
6 Lens Kit: $28k
3 Lens Kit: $15.6k

Interesting times indeed...

RAW recorder is surprisingly cheap.

F5 + RAW Recorder might well be within my reach.... ahh, decisions, decisions. A pretty perfect 1080/2k camera with 4K/RAW for the shots that need it..... Seems a great deal.

Assuming they are list prices too!

Not bad, not bad at all... $40,500 for an RF55 + Reg. VF, battery and card reader. SxS P+ cards will likely to be $700 for 64gb.

A ready to shoot setup isn't going to to be much more expensive than an Epic even with the recent price drop. I wonder how much the Raw media is going to cost.

Not just cheap - amazingly cheap, which worries me because it implies that Sony is going to charge an arm & leg for the media, but we'll see...

Also, they're the Japanese prices, which I expect to be higher than what the camera will go for in the west.

Stay tuned VERY SOON for US pricing announcement.

More I cannot say now, but VERY SOON and the Japanese pricing should be a good starting point for speculation until the official word comes from Sony US.

*cough* Basically double the price of basic SxS...
SR media runs about $4000 for 500gb though, which is about on par with the RED SSD media, I wouldn't be surprised if the ASXM cards needed to record RAW will be around the same.

So the f5 with the raw recorder ends up being more than the epic? Both systems you need to buy lots of extras to get working, and those extras seem to be priced pretty much identically.
Seems like the prices should be a touch lower considering that fact. Thought the f55 was going to compete with the epic price. Then you'd truly be a game changer. Right now an f55 package ends up being a lot more than an epic package with an f5 being the same as an epic package.
I'll say it again. Price the f55 body only for 18,999 and you'd sell a million for that simple fact. f5 at current f3 prices and lower the price of the f3 a bit. Sony would sell more than they could count.
Cameras are rad. Are they a game changer at these rumored prices? Definitely not.

Time will tell... What I am 99% sure of is that once these cameras hit the streets, an Epic will need a Meizler module to be relevant on the majority of TV sets (Hollywood, not so much).

No official U.S. prices have been set/announced yet; not MSRP, not street! You guys are all talking yourself blue in the face comparing prices that dont exist yet to Red's, Canon's, etc. prices that do exist.

The global shutter and no jello is awesome. I wonder how long before global shutter tech works it way down to cheaper cams?

The rebate has been going on for at least a year. It expires, and then quickly comes back. How long would you suggest before it becomes the "street price". No tax on out of state.

Cheers.

I will repost my evaluation from earlier today in terms of how I'm looking at things for myself at least. (Excluding power, display, media):

FS700: $9k + $2k (HXS) + $5k (AXS) = $16k
F3: $14k + $500 (Hyper Deck recorder) = $14.5k nearly 2k uncompressed, Dnx or ProRes.
F5: $15k = 2k internal 10-bit 422
F5: $15k + $500 (Hyper Deck recorder) = $15.5k for nearly 2k uncompressed, Dnx or ProRes
F5: $20k = 2k internal 10-bit 422, 4k RAW via AXS (maybe some 2k RAW too?)
F55: $25k = 4k internal 10-bit 422.
F55: $30k = 4k RAW via AXS.
Scarlet: $10,150 + $500 (Hyper Deck) = $10,650 for 4k "internal" RAW and 1080p external.

If you're going of the Japanese prices in the first post - the conversions done arent very accurate.

I priced the F5 at $20500 (approx) with the cheaper of the two viewfinders $3800 approx = $24,200. Thats camera and VF with no media or batteries or attachment to record 4k.

Though - I would not base what US prices will be based on those numbers shown.
