I am thinking about selling my Panasonic HXV200a along with extras batteries, carry case, RedRock M2 Cinema Lens w/ Flip, & ETC accessories. I was wondering if anyone could give me an estimate on how much all this is worth as a package deal.

Thanks,
Brandon

Brandon, are you giving up on the HVX200 already? We've only seen like two "color corrected" shots from you.

I'm just teasing. As far as the value of your stuff, that's hard to determine. First, you should probably find out what all you paid for it (and what it costs now) brand new. Then, consider how old all of this, and don't forget to include the operational hours count. Then, consider what shape the equipment is in. Broken/lost pieces, a blemished lense, stripped gears, and general wear and tear all make a difference.

Then, once you've considered all that, you need to see what other people are asking for similar items. Yeah, sure, someone may not have the exact same kit, but look in the For Sale section on this site and check eBay's 'completed listings' for old auctions to see what other HVX200a's have sold for. See what Red Rock setups like yours have sold for. Right now, the resale value on the 200 is pretty low (considering original cost), and the 200a only sells for slightly more.

Right now a guy I know has an HVX200, 35mm adapter, lenses, batteries, P2, tripod and more and he's only asking $4000. As far as I know, he still doesn't have any buyers. Of course, I don't think he's taking advantage of advertising to non-locals. Also, you might actually make a little more by parting the setup out. Some people may not need your whole kit, but are willing to pay a nice price for the camera or one of your other pieces. Sure it's more buyers to deal with, but if it works it works.

All in all, it all comes down to who you're selling to. People put different values on things based on what relationship they have with the potential product. My best advice is once you've done your research, decide on your absolute lowest price, and consider it like if someone walked in your door with cash in hand. Seeing a number on paper is much different than having it in your hands.

lol I've done alot of work with the HVX200a. I'm pobably just going to get rid of my Red Rock setup but thanks for the great advice. I'll deff be posting more color corrects. Haha.
