Price drops on Philip Bloom's 5D and 7D Training videos

I was looking to post this in an older thread where folks were discussing the pricing but couldn't find it. But anyways, wanted to let folks know. If you were interested in the excellent Canon 5D Mark II and 7D training courses from Philip Bloom but thought they were too expensive, I've got good news. They just reduced their prices (I'm guessing because of the brand new 5D Mark II 24p firmware that just came out). Anyways here we go:

Canon 5D Mark II Training - is now $79
Canon 7D Training - is now $89.

As a side note- the 7D video is mostly applicable for T2i owners as well...

I have the 7D training video and was a bit disappointed by the lack of the depth of information it provided. I paid full price and for $135 I was expecting some technical insight, aside from "you need a Z-finder", and "fast lenses are best for shooting in low light".

I hear what you're saying- they've also produced something of a follow-up course with some more advanced hands-on examples:

$79 is much more reasonable, IMO. Though I still think it needs to come down to $30-$45, the price of a good instructional book with more information than you care to read. Trading the amount of information for the video presentation is fair, I think, but not a premium.

Thanks Noah, I purchased this one last night and found it alot more informative for the money than the other one. Whilst I found Blooms one really good, I did feel that after the video there was still only half the story told for the money I paid, where as this one really breaks it down for me, nice find

too expensive

DVXuser and many other forums are free, and can answer all the questions you could ever think of from people who know the answers, or are looking for the answers, and want nothing in return except to help fellow film makers. The information others have shared with me here could fill a hundred volumes of training videos. (Including Philip Blooms kind contributions to the forums)

Thanks to everyone who has helped and continues to help this community.

Totally agree with you- but a lot of people don't have the time/interest to sift through all that raw data and assemble it into coherent training. I mean you could probably earn yourself a Phd just by googling information on a particular subject over a few years. But is that going to be the same quality/efficiency of instruction as going to a university? Just saying for some folks it's worth paying for. For others- not a biggie.

Yeah I'd say Drew is a lot more hands-on and shows you some specific setups and how they were achieved which is great for more advanced users.

That's true too, the fastest way from A to B is a straight line.
