Price Dropped on 60D Just After Buying one From B&H

Hey, on Thursday I bought a 60D from B&H for $1000 (Canon Refurbished had a much better price, but I wanted the Red Giant Bundle that B&H was offering). Today, I see that they've dropped the price to $850. Do you think they'll discount me the difference if I ask them, or will I probably have to return the camera to get the new price? It seems like they'd be shooting themselves in the foot not to give it to me, since I can return it for any reason, otherwise. What do you guys think?

What is their return policy? Can't you just return the one you have, and repurchase another at the cheaper price?

couldn't hurt to ask.

Yep, I could just return it, which is why it seems like they've got nothing to gain from not giving me the discount; it'd just end up costing both of us more money. I shot them an email, I'm hopeful that they'll give it to me, since they're usually pretty good to deal with.

Since I'm hassling them over this, I guess I'll give them a little free advertising -- it is a very good deal, in my opinion -- The Red Giant Bundle they're giving away is apparently worth almost $500, and even without that, $850 is quite a good price for the camera.

I've done the same thing before. Contact them and ask them. Last time, they said if it's within the return period and the price dropped on their site, they can refund you, but that might have changed.

Looks like the price is back up already! Apparently they were just responding to Best Buy's sudden price drop, and BB has already removed their sale prices. Too bad I didn't notice B&H dropped their price before their staff went home, yesterday, I might've caught them. Oh well, no harm no foul.

Don't forget about sales tax. Unless you live or bought the item in NY, B&H doesn't charge sales tax. Canon charges sales tax based on your zip code.
