Premiere Pro update

IMHO there are still workflow issues, i'd spoken to them a few times about it.

One thing that can be done is using Lumetri effects you can add LUTS on top and also use SpeedGrade to create looks.

It's a work in progress

cheers

all i need would be a LUT to get an slog2 image out of the raw's in premiere or mediaencoder... the speedgrade LUT for fs700 slog2 gets you in the ballpark, but not accurate enough..

That works here too with a single dng image sequence. But how do you import multiple dng image sequences without having to drag and drop them one at a time?

You have to do that anyways because the .dng sequences are in each of their own folders in the 7Q file structure. You will just have to spend a few minutes doing that just like you would with Resolve.

I've made looks in speedgrage and saved them and just applied them via Lumetri in Premiere Pro. At least I did that before. I'll have to test it out with 8.0, though!

Yes, but using the Media Browser in Premiere, the dng images shows as one single video clip when navigating to a folder from the 7Q. Why then can't I just choose all the folders and have it import as video clips? Seems like a big hassle when I have hundreds of clips... :(

It really depends what you want to do with the footage when you shot it RAW. I want to transcode it to 4K ProRes or 2K ProRes, to be able to save space and delete the RAW's after transcoding. I then do the grade after finishing the edit. Throwing the RAW's into Mediaencoder and applying an output Preset for ProRes (including the slog2 LUT) would be really handy...
