Premiere Pro 2.0

What will be interesting to see is how the color correction tools compare to Color Finess. They claim to use the same high bit depth color processing so maybe it will replace the need for CF? I'll have to run some comparative tests. It sounds like CF will still have an edge though with the ability to work in LAB and CMYK.

its a decision i think would be better made once all the cards are on the table. well see what everyone has to offer soon enough i hope.

Well, I will refer to my previous post of PPro 1.5.1 and how adobe updated to support HDV in PPro 1.5. BUT, the mainconcept plugin was MUCH better than the adobe simple/limited plugin. So, even if 2.0 doesnt support it directly, it will either have an update to do so or someone else will facilitate it (like matrox with axio in ppro 1.5). The brochure - which was posted on the adobe forums a while ago - lists the top new features but not all the new features. I would hope that DVCproHD would be a top feature, but who knows? Anyway, HD is the major part of 2.0 and it doesnt make sense that adobe would not release an update at a minimum for HVX support. Maybe they need time to test the HVX - Apple was a direct partner with Panny Adobe wasn't - kinda like cineporter v. firestore. Firestore will be out sooner because they are a partner. We should know more about PPro 2.0 this week and we should be able to e-mail/call adobe sales to find out about HVX support. My only complaint is that this update took so long. I have heard that it was completely rewritten though - that is probably why.

one question....do all adobe's new updated products come out on the same date (jan 16 in north america)...so would i be able to upgrade my AE 6.5 > 7.0 depending on how much better it is...gotta read some reviews first...but will i be able to upgrade it on the 16th if I wish along with my PPro 1.5 > 2.0? or is it only ppro 2 coming out on that date.

Since they're repackaging the Video Bundle, my guess is they all come out on the same date. We should have some reviews very quickly, but I'm guessing we'll need a few weeks for people to try, assess, and report back to us masses.

I just hope Adobe offers the $99 upgrade for Premiere Pro if you upgrade within 60 days as they did when they released the 1.5 upgrade.

Anyone heard anything about this AJA Xena HS card?

I like how they've dropped the chrome, makes the workspace cleaner (a little tougher to learn maybe for new users, but nice once you're used to it).

The thing I love the most is actually the snapped interface in AE 7 as well as PP 2. That looks like it makes it way better and that will be my switching point I think. As long as it works great and is stable, im good!

After reviewing some of the new features, I really like the sound of the following new featue - "adobe dynamic link"; but I don't like that I have to upgrade to a "bundle" version to receive...instead of paying for upgrades to PP, AE, Encore & AA ($676.00); I have to pay $1249 to obtain that feature and yes i do get a copy of Illustrator...but I don't need it....bummer....

Yes, it surprises me that they've dropped Audition and Encore from the 'standard' bundle. I guess they're trying to force everyone to the 'professional' bundle although it looks like you can upgrade from std to pro for $150 more.

I must have missed it but when is it going to ship? Do I assume March 3rd since up to that date you get free shipping for a (pre)order?

If anyone purchased the bundle previously then they have the best deal, people like me who purchased PP, AA & Encore as a bundle and then purchased Photoshop CS2 & AE 6.5 pro seperately are not in good shape (to say it nicely)...in order to obtain all the new features (yes, u get a copy of illustrator cs2) you have to part with $1,249

dewman, I was in your position when the last video collection came out (1.5). It took more than one phone call but I was able to argue that I was already registered for all the bundle components and should qualify for the upgrade from one bundle to the next. It took more than one call to get someone who cared enough to go check. It's worth a shot.
