Premiere Pro 2.0

Am also anxiounsly waiting for this release.

Here's what I'd be definitely thrilled to have:

DVCPRO-50\HD support Final Cut-wise
More Stability in big projects
The nested sequence bugs fixed
Clip speed keyframes

That's the first things that come to mind...

How about option to to off 24p pulldown?
What do you mean? You can already:
- Interpret 24p footage as 60i footage
- Export a 24p timeline as 24p or 60i (the only limitation is when you're exporting to DV AVI, which has limitation built into the codec itself. it can only encode NTSC and PAL standards, and 24p is not standard NTSC or PAL video).

Thanks I didn't know that, though I'd prefer some native support it's good to know that it's there, for when the HVX comes, though by then (March) Premiere Pro 2.0 will be in the: "This bug really annoys me" stage... if you know what I mean.

By the way, using the matrox codec can one load DVCPRO-50 mxf file?

Thanks, I didn't know that. I'll try it and see.

PPRO has no support for the MXF file format, so youd have to convert the file using DVfilmmaker or something to sheell the mxf wrapper to an avi or quicktime or something

I wonder if there will be any deals for all of us using 1.5, or will we have to buy 2.0 at full price? We have 7 or 8 licenses where I work, and upgrading to 2.0 could be pretty dang pricey!

When the upgrade for 1.0 to 1.5 came out, it was $100. After a tree-month grace period, it went to $199.

I'm not Adobe but it looks certain there will be upgrade pricing. In other forums, people have found info on some e-retailer sites like amazon.uk that show upgrade pricing. That's been my experience in the past as well.

Someone found a new feature list for the new video bundle. It was in a foreign language though. The automated translation was somewhat humorous except for the part where is specifically mentions support for HDV with no reference to DVCPRO whatsoever. I'm still hoping it's in there but Adobe may have given more effort to integrating Flash into the package. Looks like we will know on the 17th.

You can take a look yourself if this link works:

I've heard January 17 in North America and January 27 in Europe. The product brochures linked above don't give dates, but they do give some good info on the programs and screenshots.

I wonder why there's no mention of 24p support.

Thanks, Neopics, for the pointer to the product brochures. Although I'm disappointed that it looks like PPro will not directly support the HVX, there's plenty of other stuff that I look forward to. Finally, secondary CC in PPro. Up to now, I've been using Color Finesse in AE which works well but is a pain to export, render, import back. Adding automation to Audition is fantastic. Tighter integration. Lots of other goodies. I'm sure I'll order the upgrade if nothing more than for AE7, AA2, and PS CS2. Just tell me that batch rendering has returned to Premiere and I'll be a happy camper. Well, assuming that it's all stable that is.

Don't get your hopes us toooo high...

All these types of software programs have bugs.... that's why there is a 1.5... then a 2.0...
then next year a 2.5 etc...etc... making us purchase every release....string us along PPRO... until we all choke on it! It's consumer abuse at it's finest.
