Premiere Pro 2.0 + Raylight Problem

Hey guys,

Recently got my hands on Raylight and was keen to start editing our HD P2 footage. The issue is, importing .MXF files works fine, however, we shot in 720p at 25 frames, but there's no preset that matches this in the Premiere project settings. The closest I came to finding the right type of project file was HDV 720p 25 frames, but HDV and HD is different, right?

The options I have for project presets are:

Adobe HD-SDI:
- 1080i 25
- 1080i 30
- 1080p 24
- 720p 60

Adobe HDV:
- HDV 1080i 25 (Sony 50i)
- HDV 1080i 30 (Sony 60i)
- HDV 720p 30

Adobe SD-SDI:
- NTSC
- PAL

Then all the regular DV - 24p, DV - NTSC and DV - PAL presets as well. I have tried going to Custom Settings and finding the right settings but as I mentioned before the closest I could come was HDV 720p 25, not HD-SDI (which is what I assume I'm supposed to be editing my HD footage under).

Can anyone please help me out with this, I've installed (what I think are anyway) all the necessary P2 drivers and such. What am I missing?

I appreciate your help, I'm still very new to this P2 stuff. Cheers!

Dave.

Use the Custom Settings and Desktop mode. See the Raylight Tutorial for details, the link is http://dvfilm.com/raylight/raylightTutorial2Index.htm

Thanks mvb, I got all those settings to work correctly. However, is it normal that the footage all needs to be rendered before it can be played back properly? Some of the rendering takes a while, is this supposed to happen? I can imagine this might get very frustrating when trying to preview rough cuts etc.

Despite the red line, which occurs on any footage dropped into Desktop mode, it does not need to be rendered to playback in real time provided you are using raylight Green mode and a decent workstation like
a core 2 duo. See http://dvfilm.com/raylight/raylightSpeed.htm

Ok great, I've got it set to green mode so I'll see how it goes for me later. Thanks a lot for the help mvb, cheers!
