GH2 Premiere CS5 + GH2 = Quality issues?

Shot a scene for a music video the other day. Imported the .MTS files into CS5 to edit. Added some contrast/desaturated with Colorista II, then exported to H.264. Timeline is a mix of 720/1080 on a 720 timeline.

Anyway, the footage doesn't look so good to me. I keep peeping videos on Vimeo that are ultra crisp/sharp, etc. This one just doesn't look so nice.

Does editing the AVHCD natively create quality issues when exporting to H264? Could it be Colorista?

Just trying to figure out why the footage doesnt look really crisp and has noise/artifacts.

The video looks good to me--there are a couple of things that might affect the perception of sharpness. First, the lighting, of course it creates a nice effect with the shadows but you won't get the full use of the sensor in shadows. Next, if you look at the tiles on the wall you can see that the depth of field is shallow but also the subject is moving in and out of the DOF. So the shallow DOF creates that nice blurry effect, but sometimes the subject is blurred as well. I'm not sure from the angle but again looking at the tiles it appears that the focus is just to the front of the subject.
If you want it really sharp maybe stop the lens down to 5.6-8, depending on the lens of course, the Panasonic 200mm at F4 might be very good as well. I'm not seeing lots of noise, are you viewing the video on an HDTV or a computer screen? Computer screens sometimes add noise.

Appreciate the feedback. I have noticed that lighting is everything with this camera and we were working with only the natural lighting in the locker room. I shot on the pancake lense, can't remember what I stopped the camera down to, but ill try some more things in the next shoot we do to finish the video up. And I'm on new MBP w/ hires screen

premiere trashes resolution for native mts files since it doesnt know how to do pullown properly, panasonics fault for using some weird propertary method. Never bring interlaced footage into premiere, regardless of if its dv or avchd, it always has and will cause problems.
