PPRO 2.5? when is this coming I just cant believe that you have to have cineform or raylight to convert a file when fcp does it automatically. This is seriously a potential mindchanger. I have been editing premier forever with my dvx but I am upgrading to the hvx and my pc is an old athlon xp 2500 so i am gonna build a new pc and upgrade to ppro2 but mac and fcp with the no hassle "support" ( althought not true support but nonetheless it converts the files for you without a third party) are looking very appetizing, plus it seems like most hvxers are mac'in it anyway.
plus I just buy it and plug it in

hmmmmmmmmmmm:huh:

Yeah im in a similar situation and frustrated just like you. For the moment I can ride it out but its a hassle no matter which way you look at it. What's with Adobe anyway? There's a 24p Panasonic preset in the project templates but no HVX love. I don't really understand but then I'm new to the HVX world.

Here is what you got to ask yourself. You need to spend $200 to add this functionality to your Adobe workflow.

Is $200 worth, not having to buy a completely different format computer? Is it worth not having to learn a completely new software suite? Is it worth being able to use all of your old PC equipment as a render machines for your video programs?

I think it is personally, but of course this is a matter of opinion. Also, obviously Premiere will have to support this popular standard eventually (most likely with it's next release).

I just got my 24" iMac 2 days ago, and I am not planning on using FInal Cut Studio anytime soon with it (call me crazy). I am very comfortable with my Adobe workflow, and am not ready to make a change. You have to ask yourself if you feel the same way.

(I bought the iMac for Shake exclusively).

I am using AE extensively. I love it and can't live without it. I added Shake to my workflow, because Shake brings a few things to the table that AE doesn't do as well (and vice-versa). I am more of a digital artist/compositor than I am a filmmaker, so I just want to have all the tools I can get. Plus, Shake is what I learned in college, and I've been waiting for years to get back on the software, and now that the price dropped, I had to pull the trigger. So, I am not buying Shake to replace AE, just to compliment it.
