C100: Powering C100 with V-Mount?

So I've been considering switching to V-Mount batteries to power my C100 (and other accessories) and I just wanted to double check a couple things.

The battery I'm considering is the Switronix XP-L90s: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...x_XP_L90S_XPL_90S_V_Type_14_4VDC_Lithium.html

According to the manual, the C100 draws 8.1 watts per hour.
So if have this right, a 98wh battery would power it for 12 hours correct?
98 / 8.1 = 12.1

It also says the C100 requires 8.4v DC.
But because V-Mounts are usually 14.8v, I would need to convert it to 8.4v to avoid smoking the camera.

The V-Mount plate I'm looking at has multiple outputs, one being an 8v option.
Tilta V-Mount Plate: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1007351-STUD/ikan_bt_003_a_power_supply_system_for.html
Would that 8v output work or does it specifically need to be 8.4v?

I also saw this Ikan V-Mount Plate:

It doesn't have an 8v output but it does have an 7.4v output (same as the BP batteries). Would that work?

I can vouch for the Hawk Woods system, which looks similar in spec to the Ikan - I think D-Tap plugs are reliable and trustworthy. That switch on top of the Ikan looks a little vulnerable to me, though. If you can run to the cost of a Hawk Woods, it's a tried and tested product and is used in anger throughout the broadcast industry - or in the USA, you've got high end brands like Anton Bauer etc . Here are my thoughts from a few months back:

One other point to bear in mind - you won't be able to run your radio mic RX from the same power supply, as the C100/300 suffer from an earth loop, meaning you'll need to run the RX from it's own independent power source (ie internal batteries.)

Cheers,

Ben.

I have a Lanparte clone/rebrand of the second one and it definitely works (7.4V output). The finish on mine is awful though - it's not anodized, so the black is chipping off very easily.

EDIT: Wait, sorry. Mine is slightly different and has an 8.4v output in place of the 7.4 on the ikan model.

Do you think the 7.4v would work though? The BP-9XX batteries are 7.4v and obviously they work just fine. What would be the difference?

Just tried using a 7.5v AC adapter and it worked. Can't guarantee that it would stay powered, though. I can leave it running for longer and see what happens later today, if you'd like.

Actually I may have found better options for batteries and the plate:

GMP V-Mount - Supports 8.4v and USB (which I also wanted)
http://www.globalmediapro.com/dp/A2...t-to-DC-Power-Adaptor-with-HDMI-Distributor/#

GMP 95wh V-Mount Battery with Charger
http://www.globalmediapro.com/dp/A2ENC5/Globalmediapro-Li95S-Lithium-ion-Battery-95WH-Globalmediapro-SC1-1-channel-Mini-Charger-TRY-OUT-KIT/

I seem to remember hearing decent things about global media pro. But that plate is exactly what I'm looking for.

Too bad they charge an arm and a leg to ship!! 25% in shipping charges....

Yeah I know right! $100 to ship a single battery and the plate...
It still comes out a bit cheaper with GMP, but more importantly, that plate has a 8.4v output so I don't have to worry about frying my camera.
