power requirement to monitor out via component

just curious - does monitoring out via component cable of an hpx170 drain a battery any faster than not doing so?
 
reason i'd asked is that i was shooting a long classical musical performance in a place that had really dirty (noisy) power and had to run off battery and was trying to minimize drain on the cam battery...
 
You might want to also consider a UPS by APC to have in the car for those situations. The 900 and 1300 VA units contain AVR (automatic voltage regulation) and some other nice line filtering qualities than can ensure a solid, clean 120VAC at 60HZ in spite of noisy, fluctuating line voltages. You have the added protection of battery backup if the house power goes out completely momentarily. A decent one with those wattage capacities runs about $250.
