Possible to capture from DVX100B via Thunderbolt?

I know this is rudimentary. Apologies if it's been answered directly elsewhere.

I'm in the market for a refurbished iMac for editing. My primary camera is a dvx100b and I've been seeking out older macs that still have Firewire800 ports. Am I doing this backwards? Is it silly to buy an older mac just for the FireWire800 ports? Can I connect my DVX to thunderbolt ports with a firewire400 to 800 adapter, and then an fw800 to thunderbolt adapter? Or will this potentially damage my camera?
What is the ideal way to connect my DVX to a 2011 iMac i5 and should I try and find one that still has FW800 ports?
Very anxious to hear your repllies. Thanks in advance,
Vance

Well, there's THIS.

Or, get an external drive (which you'll need anyway) that has both Thunderbolt and FireWire ports.

Thanks for you reply. With that adapter will I not need a second adapter? DVX> FW400> FW800> Thunderbolt.
I thought the dvx output was fw400.

Okay, I have one too. Thanks so much... I'm silly. So I'll just need a FW800 to Thunderbolt adapter like Alex H. suggested.
Thanks again,
Vance
