C500: Possible to attach gold mount or V-mount directly to camera?

I'm not interested in either of the expansion packs offered with the C500 MKII, but I would be interested in directly attaching a gold mount battery plate directly to the back of the camera body as-is in order to avoid the awkwardly long Canon battery sticking out the back and to add several p-taps to power accessories. It looks like there's only about 2.25-2.5 inches of unused space on the back of the camera before you'd start covering the buttons on the left:

I wonder if any 3rd party manufacturers will come up with a solution that could work (without rails). Would love to be able to screw an adapter straight into those 4 holes. I thought I remembered seeing a picture somewhere were someone had a mini v-mount plate attached directly to the camera...

The current Wooden Camera gold mount plate is 3" wide which after you got a battery on there would certainly cover up all of the buttons on the back of the camera.

Based on what's available on the market right now it seems that this option is probably a pipe dream, because even utilizing mini v-mount batteries it would still cover up those important menu buttons on the back of the camera and that v-mount plate only has one d-tap and most (if not all?) mini v-mount batteries only have one d-tap as well so you'd be limited to only powering the camera and one accessory unless you want to introduce a splitter into the mix which would kind of defeat the point of simplifying things.

All said and done, probably better off using Canon batteries (or Swit w/ d-tap) when going light and handheld and then a proper v-mount/gold mount plate ala Wooden Camera on rails when fully rigged.

If I pull the trigger on the C500 that probably means also pulling the trigger on an Easyrig Vario 5 and finally giving up on my ever evolving game of "How to fully rig my camera and keep it under 15.4lbs for my Easyrig MiniMax", ha.

Couldn't you still get a finger in for function 12, cancel and menu? You may only be giving up the joystick. I don't use the rear joystick very often on my c200 - mostly LCD screen/handgrip.

I think the core nano with splitter will let you use minimax, big v/gold mount battery set up moves you to vario 5 territory. You can let the clients cough up for the larger support set up?

Here's my setup with the WC Pro plate.
With a BP-30 attached, it doesn't block the buttons or any of the ports on the back.

It's not exactly what you want but I rigged mine up with a vertical shoulder pad and a VLock on the back, which works because my batteries have DTap ports on them (which is how I power the camera). Obviously this isn't as ideal as having a powered plate but it was inexpensive and currently gets the job done. The buttons are easily accessible because the thinner side of the battery is aimed at the camera so that's nice. It almost looks like it was made for it.

I'm definitely going to check out that WC Pro Plate!
