This forum rocks, especially the search feature.

The list, so far:

Canon XH A1 Kit

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=WishList.jsp&A=details&Q=&sku=494739&is=REG

Evolution G2 100 Series

Audio Technica AT4073 kit with Rycote softie

Bogen 503 with Wilderness Tripod Legs

Sound Devices Mix Pre with Sound Devices SC 3 production case

Canon Filter Set

Porta Brace Polar Mitten

Hoodman with Magnifier

Wanted the Varizoom S-2000, but will probably go with a VidLed, plus batteries, XLR cables, Sony headphones.

On the fence about a mattebox, as well as the case/backpack (see other thread), and the mixer - could go with a Sound Devices 702T, but I'll be a one man crew and have no experience with even a field mixer so I'm sure I would just be complicating things, but do have about 3 months to practice.

Please pick this list apart, impart wisdom, opinions, criticize (well, maybe not criticize).

Thanks to all who helped me!

I think a matte box with loads of N.D is needed. The glare from the ICE is going to be really strong.

Bring also vacum bag to keep the the camera airtight while adjusting to the tempereture in the room or outside. When warm keep wamp , when cold keep cold. taking the camera out when it is warm inside when you just come in from the cold outside is going to fog up your lens.

hope it helps

I've never used another head in cold weather so I'm not sure if they're all like this or not but in below zero temps, the 503 is like moving a cement truck. It really gets stiff.

Again, I have no experience with a mattebox. I just assumed the cameras ND filter plus an external would be enough. So then you would be referring to the 4x4 glass filters?

n8ture, so in your opinion fluid head or no fluid head?

--If I have a mattebox on the camera, can I still screw on a wide angle lens/threaded filters?
