Actually, I love the footage I've downloaded.

Converted anything I've gotten to DVD to test.

For me at least, I wonder why there are so few reports on the camera so far.

Most of them are from Japan.

I am number 46 on the EVS list and both Rush and Jan have been very helpful with all of my questions.

I think for the first time in my life I am giddy with anticipation. Wow, I can't believe I just used the word giddy.

Yes!! I'm in! Barry/Jared's footage + Kaku's footage + Steadicam Footage = Confirmation of my bleeding edge pre-order decision. :) I'm stoked! Regarding waiting, I'm also waiting on Seritek to release the PCIe version of their SATA card for external RAID on the Quad G5. Had to wait a couple of months for the MPIC 35mm imager as well. So waiting has been a key element of this whole upgrade. As I've said many times to people regarding computer purchases, things only get better, the longer you wait.

On another positive note, the learning curve will be next to nothing due to all the time afforded to do pre-research on the HVX200. Hopefully a downloadble users manual will hit the net soon.

Ground-breaking products create strong emotions.
Of course we're all excited about the camera, otherwise we wouldn't give a damn about when it will finally ship...

But if you really need to hear it again, I'll pop your happy pill and do a cheer leader number for you...

Yay!

I'll buy one when I can get it shipped to me next day, otherwise, I'll keep my money in my account. I wait eagerly for that day.

I have a client that wants to shoot Hi-def and his budget will only support HDV or HVX200. He luckily looked at the price and said, i need to think about it. i hope he makes up his mind, the day after I have recieved my HVX200.

This camera will be great. I love the workflow because i hate capturing footage, and I love the thought of editing other people projects in the field with my powerbook.

It is a heavily compromised camera...

Just like the Z1, XLH1, HD100...

For the price, and what is appears to do, I think it's the least compromised of those you cite.

Although the Z1U, in my view, in the right application, is a pretty good value.

I'm super stoked about this ass rocking camera! I even went out an bought a new g5 and final cut in anticipation.

I just made my second post. The first one was way back in 2004. Yikes!

Just wrapped a meeting with a client.
I used and gave credit, where credit was due the demo
footage showing the quality of what the HVX could
output. We also looked at the Sony HDCAM DVD again
and looked at rental rates for HDCAM vs. VariCam
vs. what I might charge when I finally do receive
the HVX. He was open to another round of discussion's
when the HVX gets in my hot little hands. He was
thinking HDCAM all the way but a 3 week shoot renting
an HDCAM???? His only hesitation was the P2 shooting.
Old school (like me in some ways) I will need a solid
workable solution by June-July. Plus I might need help shooting,
I hope to be contacting some of you for day rates and equipment lists. Don't ask me what it is as I just signed an NDA, all I can say
is it will be real cool.

Put into the context of an under $10,000 HD Camera, it is really great to see all the stuff it can do. I've see enough images that show that the camera will produce very good results.

Every camera has its limits, if you operate outside of those limits, you can expect poor results. We all live under the same laws of physics, Canon, Sony, and JVC are no exception and these cameras have their limits too.
