Portable video monitor for DVX-100A?

Can anyone recommend a fairly inexpensive external monitor for the DVX-100A? Is the SONY PVM-8020 compatible with the DVX-100A?

Any professional monitor with composite or S-video in will be compatible.

I'd look for a good deal on a used Sony PVM-9L2 or 9L3. Great color, sturdy build, 4:3/16:9 selectable viewing. I have a 9L2 as my field monitor and I love it.

Thanks, Steve. I found one, but without batteries. Can you tell me what model number the batteries are?

The 8041Q is a great monitor... predecessor to the L2. If I recall correctly, the 8041Q uses NP1 batteries, but the battery life in those monitors is not great. The 9L2 has a V-mount on it for Sony Lithium-Ion batteries.

The monitor can be powered by one or two NP-1B batteries or a BP-90A battery pack with a DC-210 battery adaptor.

May be a little tricky to find but with a litle research you should be able to find a supplier.
