Most of my stuff is IMAX, then goes to 35mm and IMAX.

IMAX, thats very very impressive experience for someone your age. Id love to shoot Imax one day. Closest ive gotten is medium format photography :)

film (kodak on arri, panavision) and video (varicam)(xl-1/xl-2), (as a PA) syriana last year , (as a PA) The Kingdom (starring jamie foxx and jennifer garner) this year. Facing the inevitable was done last year on srilanka's tsunami.. a lengthy documentary... it was a success we raised $400k... and it didnt even burst out.. it was under a cc license.. ofcourse everything we made went to the victims of the tsunami.

soon... with red, i shall shoot two and maybe three features, im processing the funding and the production costs right now.. (as an EP and AD) Umm Al-Duwais (arabic boogeyman only its a woman).. the second flick (Dirham) (it'll be an action adventure effects packed flick) which i'll direct and (hopefully) might star morgan freeman.

i might make a couple of small mickey mouse budget flicks to play around and have fun too.. im making BETROOL (petrol, arabic does not have the P pheoneme) it may be a 3d animation or shot on video.. still havent decided yet but the 3d modelling is almost half way done. there are a couple of other small funny shorts i'll be making.. finally got me one of those fancy adapters with stuff that roll inside and give you 35mm dof.. LOL. it'll be fun..

what pays the bills.. production of commercials.. most on film and 3d animated stuff. and im starting a small production company of my own in a while. i basically work as an entrepreneur, i belong to all local film and production organisations... and ive got my share of the market.. its all fun.. really fun.

Since I didn't put down the money. Just wondering how the poll results look so far.

And the cameras used well that depends on the project. Plus I'm not the shooter. I'm either a producer or line producer.

4 features 35mm
1 feature CineAlta

10 Music Videos mostly 16mm with a dvx thrown in there.

Then video shoots including Digi Beta, DVX, and others.

Actually one of the DVX spots was suppose to be a spot for the web for American Pie presents Band Camp and Universal liked it so much they released it as a TV spot in Europe.

So the next spot we did for them for the 40 Year Old Virgin we shot digibeta... just in case it became something other than a web spot. But of course it didn't.

cinealta mainly, with 35mm topping and a very small hvx200 on top.

was mainly 35 until 2002, when we bought a full hdcam workflow.

How about none? I've never used a video camera before. There hasn't been anything (affordable) worth using until RED. I've worked in post-production for the last several years.

I am sure you are not alone -I should have added that as an option in the poll. I think there are a lot of people planning on buying a RED who are not full-time DPs. Do you intend on getting some formal professional training in cinematography after you get the RED? Do you intend to rent it out as part of your post-production work?

When I first get my Red One it will be available immediately for rent. Most likely I will rent it out to a rental house until I get my Red Zoom lens in late summer 2007 (hopefully).

I purchased a 6-disc set of cinematography training DVD's a while ago:

I'm will also be looking for any new training DVD's specifically for the Red.

When I get my own studio set up, I will do as many jobs on set as possible to keep the crew to a minimum, but DP may not be one of them....

What do you mean rent it out to a rental house?

I mean I will loan it to an established rental company for the 4+ months between when I get my camera and when I get my lens. I figure many rental companies will run out of these rather quickly due to low availability. I still need buy some more equipment before I can start shooting with the Red One myself anyway. I'm hoping to work out a deal for a percentage of profit on the rental of the body. The rental house would supply all other necessary equipment to the client and take care of the insurance.
