GH2 Polarizer Filter stuck on one of my lenses.....

I have a Sigma zoom lens (18-50mm f/2.8) with a thin polarizer filter attached to the front. No matter what I do I simply cannot unscrew it off. I even purchase a Lens Wrench

and I don't possible see how in the world it would work since the teeth on the filter are so tiny and the wrench teeth are larger, no way in the world to get a good grip. I even tried the method of placing a rubber band around the filter and nothing.

Can all hope be loss? This lens cost me over $400+ I believe.

thanks

If the fridge is being employed, or even more if using the freezer for a few hours, then pop first into an airtight bag with moisture absorber and seal in. Doing this in a cold place with the lens having been there for at least 12 hours is a good idea.

As the temperature drops, moisture in the air will form tiny drops and may even freeze, so take it slowly, as the ice may cause more damage that the water. The warmth of a hand may then expand the lens rim faster than the filter rim if hand is on the lens. Vice versa if needed.

Good luck and be sure to drop back and let us know how you got on.

Then I'd take it to a camera repair, rental house or camera shop and ask them to help you. Sometimes you're just straight out of luck and then handing it over to the people who know is just easier.

Get a lens hood and attach it as tightly as you can onto the filter. Then unscrew the lens hood, usually it will take the filter off the lens. If it doesn't work, try again. You can also glue the filter to the lens hood if it still doesn't work.
