PluralEyes question

I am using an h4 connected to a lav for an interview 60 minutes long. I leave the h4 running thee ntire time. When new questions arrise or changing framing I stop recording on the camera. When I attempt to use pluraleyes it is not doing a very good job syncing. Any tips in making my life easier with this software.

When you cut the camera, you should be cutting on audio as well. That will make it a alot easier to sync up since pluraleyes syncs same length clips together easier, so multiple takes with 1 audio track won't cut it. And I've found that with PluralEyes, it NEVER perfectly syncs... but it helps to get it real close so you can tweek it till it works for you.

There is no need to start/stop the audio recorder when you start/stop the camera. PluralEyes works just fine with a single audio clip and multiple video clips. If you are not getting the results you expected, the first thing to explore is the sync options:

As for the accuracy of the sync, it is very rare for PluralEyes to report that it has synced but for the sync to be off. A more likely explanation is that the Final Cut Pro settings need to be tweaked, as described here:

But if that's not it, we'd be very interested in working with you to determine the cause of any sync problems.

I have stoped the audio recording when I stop the camera. I also slate every shot (not possible in every situation I know) which helps with syncing.

...?? you're doing something wrong then, plural eyes is far the most and 100% accurate audio-sync plug-in out there! makes editing music videos and wedding films so much pleasurable!!

So I keep hearing, If only I could get it to work for me. so far its been nothing but errors and nonsense. Bruce from singular is looking into it for me. I hope they figure it out cause I would really like to be able to use it for my multicam jobs. I hate having to sync clips manually, what a pain in the ass.

been nothing but errors

Get in touch with them via e-mail. Bruce has been really good about getting back to me as things move along.

I've had nothing but success with PluralEyes in the past. I also echo the comment about it not being necessary to stop the audio recording when you stop the camera. In fact, I find it less aggravating for PluralEyes to leave all of the syncing in one FCP sequence, allowing me to pull clips as necessary into my edit. Otherwise it ends up being a series of different sequences, unless I've overlooked a setting. So glad that PluralEyes is part of my workflow, though, for sure. It comes in handy.
