Looks great, visually. I think if I saw the trailer in a theater I wouldn't care all that much about it, but then I'm not a huge fan of "Hollywood" movies. I think the fact that I would assume this to be a Hollywood movie speaks very well of your production values. I think my main interest in seeing this would be to see an entirely independent film shot over the course of five non-stop days.

Based on the trailer, no.

Here's why: the trailer didn't clue me in as to what genre to expect. This is an absolute must for a trailer - it must convey the genre, or else one can't even begin to think "do I want to see this". Is this a thriller? Crime? Supernatural? Horror? Unless I find out, I'm not interested - life's too short. Say, it's a crime thriller, or say it's horror - well, I like those genres, and I'll consider (however, if it's for example some hokey "coming of age story", I'l pass with a extreme prejudice). Since I can't tell what this belongs to, I'm not taking a chance unless word of mouth tells me otherwise - but there's no word of mouth, so I'm not taking the risk. Once I know the genre, and it's one I'm interested in, then I'll consider further... especially if there's an interesting premise, or setting, or actors - but here I get no such info - so, it's a definite pass... the risk is too high (Sturgeon's Law applies - 95% of everything is sh|t).

My advice: redo the trailer, if possible. JMHO.

Thanks for the pointers. I suppose the genre is a bit hazy. I'm trying to think how I could convey that... it's really a dramatic suspense flick. There is a bit of coming of age, but only because it takes place with younger people. The relationship between the two main characters simply incur some of the age-appropriate issues but nothing more. The real question becomes- what happened to our lead character to put him in such a situation... and... does he live?

Congrats on getting the limited release! Where will they be shown? I liked the trailer though at some points I became a little lost. But yeah, I would want to see the movie to see how well you did in only 5 days.

Thanks, luke. I'd hope you would.

The theaters will be local. Most likely Cinemark and Regal in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA. After the premiere we will work on getting it on the short film circuit.

I do wish Blaine would explain why he wouldn't want to see it.

it looks good man. Good luck with the local screenings. good to hear that small productions are getting publicity.

Excellent job getting the release.

I probably wouldn't see it because every second movie these days seems to go for the memory loss angle (how'd the character get there? / what's going on? etc.) That said if you re-wrote the synopsis I might. Actually, I probably would want to check out the RR M2 on the big screen though.

The trailer doesn't really convey what the movies' about.

The poster is ace - really good.

Hi Chris. If someone said to me I really want to see Plummet, you want to come? Id say yes. Based on the trailer not sure Id make the choice myself. And it's not that I think it would be bad, but the start gives me too much of that teenage angst kind of movie feeling. Then once he goes into the water I start to see some more of the interesting stuff. I think some of the backend dialogue would benfit it.

Im trying to base that opinion if I just saw the trailer.

However, as youre a member of this forum and used the m2, bloody oath Id go check it out.

It just didn't look like a movie that I'd be interested in. Of course, I've seen movies I thought I wouldn't be interested in that turn out to be okay. God's Ears comes to mind. I hope your screenings went well. I'm probably not the target audience for a movie like this.
