Please just give me a clue...

Buy a book on filming, and or photography. That will help you big time. Don't be like this dude I know who has a DVX100b and just shoots it on auto. His footage looks like typical amateur youtube footage. He could've achieve the same thing with a $400 camera.

I been researching the HVX200 for weeks, and i'm not getting it for at least another week. I could never just buy a camera I know nothing about and they just figure out if it's what I want or if it's any good.

Ansel Adams did a series called "the camera" and a couple other I cant remember. They explain how cameras "see" oh so well and will keep you from being the guy on auto as re1000 mentioned. And read the DVX manual while you are reading the Adams's books. It'll all come together.

I think even just a photography book is good enough to begin with. Nothing irks me more than people buying prosumer or pro setups and not having a clue what aperature, shutter speed, ect is. It's weird to, cuz when I got into video/photography, I read up as much as I could, and when i was stumped, I was did more research. I figured out almost immediately that "auto" did not look good. Yet I see people using their setups on auto for years, and trying to be "professional".

well hopefully I'll put some footage up one day and show you I've learnt how to use it...
This is a great forum site though.
I really appreciate the advice on here.
Thanks again...
