GH13 Please help with FD Adapter

Two out of my three Canon FD lenses are stuck with the iris locked wide-open after using the Fotodiox FD/M43 adapter. This didn't happen the first several times I used the adapter.

Now I'm unable to change the aperture on the FD lenses even off the camera. Honestly, it has been decades since I've used manual lenses, so perhaps I'm missing something very obvious. Is it possible that my old lenses have been actually been damaged by the adapter?

I carefully studied a threads on the this issue (http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1041&message=38266005) & called Fotodiox. My lens/adapter seems correctly aligned (it clicks in place) but the aperture still won't function.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Hauling the lenses and adapter into a pro camera store is always an option if all else fails.

FD lenses need to be locked in order for the aperture to work. I had the same problem for the longest time with my FD 50 1.4. There are a few types of FD mounts. There is the FL which is the oldest, the FD breech lock, and the standard FD. If you have one with a silver ring on it, its one of the breech lock lenses and you'll need to put on the adapter and tighten it like usual, but you'll have to make sure that the two pieces of your lens are tight as well because the back part of the breech lock (the lens mount) is the part that holds the aperture blades open). If you have a newer FD mount then you'll have to make sure your lens is on the adapter pretty tight. It's a bit easier if you set your lens to wide open before putting the adapter on. The FD lenses are a bit trickier than these new fangled electronic lenses!
