Hallo

please if someone can help me with some information,I recently bought C100 and I can not read WAVEFORM on C100.I read all the books of the canon and I found no answer how to set and how to use to get a correct exposure.is than this setting, gain .. etc who do not know how to configure them.ZEBRA currently only use :-(
I tried to expose by waveform C100 and always over exposed image...Canon in sait is nothing conclusive as to use this feature

Thanks

Marius

I do wish the WF had numbers or something to see where 50% and 100% are. I have a real problem finding 100% at a glance.

Im using RGB WF on c100. at bright sunlight, WDR, when everything is in the middle, between 20 - 70 %, I still see an overexposed image.

My suggestion is to trust your eyeballs. lol eventhough nobody suggests you to do so.

But for me, for my C100, underexpose then pull up in post, is better than overexpose then pull down

To be safe set your zebra to 100 or 90 so if you see any strips on faces you know your way over exposed. Like an alarm.

For zebras, shouldn't it be set to about 100 to let you know if any of your entire image is overexposed, and set to about 70 to let you know if you have proper exposure on faces, as the highlights on faces are supposed to be about 70 IRE?

Up to you. I use the waveform and zebras at the same time. I don't like seeing the zebras all the time so I use them more as a "If I see them strips it isn't good" method. Whatever it takes to assist you.

I was wondering why the default zebras were 70 IRE, thanks!

Are zebras reliable in C-Log mode?

Depends on your Iso, thats where the wave form comes in. If your are shooting 320, the sensor clips earlier than 90% IRE so the zebras wont help. Where the waveforms peaks start to flatline is where the sensor is clipped.
