FS7: Please Execute APR

So have I. Every other day. No idea why, but I was thinking of sending it in for a service.

How many hours on your machine?

Yep, this seems to be a V 4.0 thing.

I hit menu too.

The prompt is annoying as I would do an APR and Black Balance check before an important shoot anyway and don't need to be spoon fed.

Has anyone actually failed an APR test?

I don't think you can fail it. APR looks for problems and fixes them with no report of whether it found anything to fix or not.

As far as I know there is not, but please let us know if you're the first person to see it. :-)

BTW, I have no doubt that APR has fixed pixel problems on my camera even though I never actually saw the stuck/dead pixels. That is how it is supposed to work. It is all about prevention before a problem becomes visible. Anyone who routinely ignores the APR prompt is foolish and is setting themselves up for stuck pixels in their shot someday that probably will not be visible in the viewfinder during shooting. In fact, as part of my camera prep on really important shoots, I always execute both APR and Black Balance even without the camera nagging me about it.

I haven't been shooting very much with my FS7 the last few months so I can't say if the frequency of the message has changed or not, but on my F55 it has consistently always been about every 5 days whether the camera has been in regular use or sitting idle.

I shoot a lot on my FS7. It definitely comes on more now that it used to.

Just my imagination then.. if Im sort of undecided to do it or not.. the message just goes away automatically anyway.. only a nuisance if i have to shoot quickly after power up..
