Hey guys,

Just wanted to share one of our latest projects we did titled, " Playing it Safe ".

It's a short film about letting fear take over the things you love to do.

We shot it in a few days and had no budget as usual. Thanks for taking the time to check this out!

Another good film with an excellent story! Best part for me was the shot of the lead (close-up) sort of losing it as all the people were walking past her. Very clever and nicely done. I thought the lead actress did a great job. The others were okay, but the story pulled everything together for sure.

I wonder...isn't it to empty in sound ?

And yes there's music and dialogues...But I was thinking about "sound"... the birds, the cars, the sound of cleaning the glasses, the sound of moving... people outside, inside...the classes...

Though i'm sure i'm not an expert like you, we spent a lot of time on ambient noise and i assure you those sounds are there. How loud they are is another story. thanks for watching!

Yes, but I was thinking more about "detail" sounds... Those who are mostly done with Foley also... Like when she sits on the bed, some bed creaking...
Walking, sounds of clothes moving when you move... (calles: presence). Those kind of things.

So not only putting a "roomtone" under a scene... but also the other sounds. The sound that nobody notices, untill they're not there...those sounds :-p

I have more the feeling that who composed the music wanted to pull the music "in front", because he/she is very proud of it. But sometimes you have to dare to also bring other sounds to the front. Otherwise it's a musicvideo....

I totally agree, and there is more there than room tones. In fact, i spent the whole day getting sounds and making foley effects. I think sound is crucial to a project and hope to get better at sound design myself. But again, I'm sure i'm not as advanced as others.
