Today there was a prototype AF100 at Cinequipt in MN. The Panasonic rep didn't know how far along the prototype was (75%, 90%, etc...). One thing that really was weird was when I attached the Lumix 14-140 and did a snap zoom with it there was this strange thing happening in the image. It seemed like motion blur swelling of the image for lack of a better way to describe it. The IS was off so it wasn't that unless for some reason it wouldn't turn off by the switch on the side of the lens, but we tried 2 different 14-140 lense. It worried several of us there and we were determined to find out if it was the codec , the 24p outputted to a 60i monitor, the lens, or something different. We finally put on a short PL zoom lens for a 16mm film camera. The image was vignetted of course, but we were able to determine it had something to do with the 14-140 lens. So either the 14-140 lenses both had old firmware, there is some kind of auto IS control inside the camera even tho the lens switch was off (all of us including the rep couldn't find it), or there was a bug in the prototype. Anyway all of us walked away pretty much saying we wouldn't buy the 14-140 lens. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what is the solution?
