playback on a1

i have a mini dv tape that was recorded on my a very low quality camera, when i play it back on my a1, there are gray bars that run across the screen.

any solutions on how to correct this problem? or info on as to why it does this

Sounds like the other camera had a dirty head. In which case the footage is already recorded and there's nothing you can do.

Do you know what other camera it was originally record on?
