Playback in EOS camera without .thm file

I need to playback some videos in camera, but I dont have the respectives .thm files, so the camera doesnt "see" the video. Is there any trick in order to create the .thm file or at least make a dummy in order to fool the camera?. I have tried with a jpg file of the same size renaming it as .thm, but it doesnt work.

Mine is a 7D.

Thank you very much!

Simon.

I don't think you can do that. Surely, playing the content of an image on LCD has nothing to do with the meta data of the image. However, for each motion image played in camera, 7D has to know its meta data whenever requested. When that information is lost, I think 7D has to refuse to acknowledge it, let alone playing it (showing a question mark icon instead).
