PL retrofit 80-200Nikkor

When I first bought my GH1 in December I bought a few Nikon F mount lenses
2 ZF Ziess and 2 Nikon 1 24mm manual and a 80-200 f2.8 Zoom. This was before
I new about Duclos . I also bough the Hotrod deluxe wt PL mount, thinking I'd rent Cine Lenses down the road.
However after my 4th job with this rig and using the the 80-200 on a couple
these jobs I'd like to get it (just the 80-200 zoom) retrofited wt the PL mount.
Don't necessarily have to have the aperture de-clicked, but would really like the Heaver PL mount on this beast.

Know anyone that will do this for less than an arm and a leg or is there a way to learn how to DIY

Thanks in advance

Pls excuse me for hijiacking the thread...
Do you have a pic of the lens mounted on the GH1 and onto the tripod / rig?
I am trying to mount a heavyweight 105 1.8 thorugh the Novoflex adaptor and am worrying about weight / stress factors.
Maybe there are none...but still would appreciate seeing how the users of big lenses do it.

Thx

Paul

Would love to see some footage of the 105/1.8 - guessing that's the Nikon right? Seems like that'd be a great DSLR cine lens for the right applications.

For you and for OP:

I've used the 80-200mm f/2.8 on the GH1 using just the F-mount with no problems, you just have to make sure you support it...which I did here using my rail system and shoving some lens bags under it (field solution, worked great though, stable during focusing, etc, and didn't impede anything.)

Precious, thanks!
I also found a company called Kirk Enterprises that offer some solutions to support long / heavy lenses... Now I just need to get all the compatible bits and pieces together...

I love ANY of the Nikkor 105mm lenses. They are all super duper lenses and tack sharp. I have the 105mm f/2.5, but the extra light coming through the f/1.8 would be awesome.

What a great look - totally usable and sharp even at f/1.8 - it obviously improves as you get to f/5.6 - did you maintain consistent exposure? There are massive differences in contrast from f/1.8 to f/5.6 - not saying this isn't to be expected - just curious. Looks like an awesome lens and a very very useful one to have in the bag!

Well that's sold me on a 105mm Nikkor...of course I will probably get the f/2.5 version for like $100 instead of the 1.8 for $500 ;)

For the time being have a look at these 3 stills which I popped off for you (Nostalgic film mode, iso 100):

Looks great @ F/5.6. Can you give us an idea of how close you were to the subject and how far the background was? I am looking for a go to shallow DOF one-shots lens. Thanks!

1) I shot the in-house film in the worst possible condition i.e. with the light streaming in almost head on into the glass, hence the "creamy" (ehm) look... I'll try to grab something more appropriately lit for comparison purposes.

2) The shot of the outdoor lamp... I was about 10ft from it. The house in the background to the left could be appx. 20 meters (20 ft). I obviously botched the exposure on the first shallow DOF shot, the other two were exposed correctly as far as f-stop and shutter are concerned.
