Pixelilated after uploading to vimeo

I shot this http://www.vimeo.com/11008479 with a Canon 7D

and uploaded it to vimeo. Some of the frames are pixelated now. Is this common?

I exported the sequence from Final Cut Pro as Apple Pro Res 442 HQ, then converted it to mp4 (H.246).

Then uploaded it to myspace (which shows no defects), but the upload to vimeo has somekind of weird pixel thing going on (which you can see best in the ending scrolling titles).

What gives?
 
Why would you convert it twice? Second why do you black out the screen in between each transition you do? Truly not something pleasing to look at.
 
A couple of things to think about. First when you export to ProRes you don't need to use HQ unless your going out to film, regular ProRes or ProRes LT is more than adequate for HD broadcast quality.

When you make the conversion to mp4, I'd recommend using the Apple TV setting if your using compressor which automatically sets your bit rate to 5Mbs/sec which is what Vimeo requires. However having said that, I've noticed that Vimeo has had difficulty lately with their encoding.

Here's an example of bad encoding: http://www.vimeo.com/10993653 at 1:16 you can see it starting on the speedometer and then again at 1:26 on the wheel.

Here's the same file and all I did was simply upload it again: http://www.vimeo.com/11005540 There's still some artifacts but its much better.

Just out of curiosity did you use the Vimeo Uploader application?
 
Try to vary the transitions. The blackouts are fine, just not for the whole video.

Aside from that, I didn't see anything wrong with the video.
 
@diego I didn't have enough footage to make it to the end of the song which is also why I tried to stretch it with the transitions. Yeah every cut is a bit monotone. Thanks.

They have an Upload application in beta that you can upload multiple files etc.. It had serious problems a while back but I started using it again with the latest release and it seems to be working well. I'm on a Mac.
