First thanks for all the shared knowledge and experiences in this great forum, YOU all produce a lot of background to progress with filming!!

I just received my Pixel TW-282 Intervalometer, which I bought with a Nikon connecting cable as the Panasonic connecting cableset wasnt on stock. Prompt delivery, looks all very good, fast delivery, no costums or taxes in Germany collected

To connect the remotereceiver to the GH2 I bought the following cable: is 2,5mm jack but at 1 end with 3 rings and on the other with 4 rings...??? i get suspicious!!
http://cgi.ebay.de/220772449813?ru=...49813&_sacat=See-All-Categories&_fvi=1&_rdc=1

When I connect and turn on, first the remote and after the GH2, i get the message " do not forget to turn on the remote MICROPHONE".. the remotereceiver is NOT recogniced as release unit, but as microphone it seems...

I read here that many of you have TW-282 in use on GH2, without any troubles, and could 1 of you pls specify that the connecting cable from the remotecontrol to GH2/GH1 is with a 4 rings 2,5mm jack at both cable ends, or with 3 / 4 rings...... 2,5mm jack.

The DMW-RSL1 original Panasonic remote control has 4 Rings 2,5 mm jack at the camera connection.... and the delivered original Pixel Nikon connecting cable has the nikon connector/ 2,5mm 4 rings for the remote.... so for my logic the cable is not suitable for this connection...

Thanks in advance for your answer

Here is my Intervalometer that I bought several months ago from a Hong Kong eBay seller. I needed to open it up and adjust a resistor that was shorting to make it work. It works great now... Al

Thanks Al,

yes, it seems the connector to the GH2 has to have 4 contacts/metalrings

I got a positive answer by email from pixelhk.com that the tw282 with CL-RS1 should be compatible with GH2, but mine does not operate yet

Ist there anyone succesfully operating this combination for GH2? any modifications?

Thanks

Kurt

The remote uses contacts 3 and 4 by varying the resistance it connects to them.
The mic connection shortens those contacts by using the 3 ring plug.
Once the camera detects that contacts 3 and 4 are shorted it assumes a mic is connected and displays the warning message.
Here is a good link on how it works.

Good luck.

I have a great contact to pixelhk.com and the seller of the connecting cable, I can not verify any solution yet, but as soon as I will give a clear explanation here to prevent other from the same problem.
have a great day

Kurt,

I have a GH2 and recently purchased the same meter. The cable that came with it has a 90°, four conductor end and a straight, three conductor end. Mine works fine but you need to make sure the 90° end goes into the camera and the other into the receiver. If you do it the other way you'll get a message about the microphone.
The other thing I noticed was that the 90° end takes a little more force to get it fully inserted. It feels like it's in but if you push a little more it will click into place. When I first got mine I thought the unit was broken or the cable was bad because it only worked occasionally. Then I realized that it wasn't completely inserted.

Hi to all,

Wazoo, and other concerned about my solution, I am right now waiting for a new connecting cable as it seems after several checks that this could be faulty. Thanks, it is great to know that the TW-282 is compatible with the GH2.

yes, ALL connecters are complete and correctly mounted, I had this problem with my 2,5/3,5mm adapter for the röde video mic

pixelhk.com are very fast and very solution orientated till now, and they promised to send. Still waiting.

I will update as soon as I have a solution

Greatings

I'm having a problem. I bought the TW-282 but it comes with a Olympus connector to 4 ring 2.5mm. From my research only the cable needs to be exchanged to function with my GH-2. I bought a 4 ring 2.5mm to 4 ring 2.5mm cable. But It doesn't work?

I researched the rings and as previously mentioned, only ring 4 and 3 are used. Just the resistance between the two change. Example 5k resistance is for focus and 2k is trigger the shutter. I used an ohm meter but don't get those readings?

Any ideas?

I don't know how to help you with modding this wire. However you can buy an additional wire for Panasonic. It's RS1 model. We can buy it here in Poland a lot of different wires for TW-282. YOu can use one unit with different cameras - you change only wires.
