Hey, all!
I'm new to these forums, and I think my latest short film should work pretty well as an introduction. This film is pretty representative of my style, and it highlights both my strengths and weaknesses, as a filmmaker. I'm not much of a technician, and the evidence of such can be seen in the sub-par lighting and audio in this video. I fashion myself a director, and I look forward to working with a paid crew, whom I can rely on to be my technical geniuses. If you can look past the technical issues, I think this is a fun movie, and I had a whole lot of fun making it.
For those of you who've taken part in the 48HFP, you might like to know the required elements for this film:
Character: Tyler/Tyra Hampton, electrician
Prop: hairdryer
Dialogue: "From now on, you call the shots"
Genre: Detective/Cop
For those of you who haven't taken part in the 48HFP, I highly recommend it. You can learn a lot, and it's just downright fun.
I hope you enjoy. I'm not specifically looking for critiques, but of course I always appreciate feedback. One more thing -- NSFW
Oh, one last thing -- the only part of this video that is not really representative of my style is that it was shot entirely handheld. For this movie, we had a ridiculously-agressive shooting schedule (this was a 12-page script, shot in one day). For logistical reasons (no setups), I decided to forego a tripod. That's weird for me -- I normally shoot mostly on tripod.
