over night grocery store shoot, and my last gig with this current setup.

mic is an oktava mk012 hyper cap in a rycote invision mount. the green/red cable is a shorty hirose 10 pin to xlr/headphone return. my eng cable is an older one with xlr's on both ends and my m4mkII mixer has a hirose 10pin for sending to camera or recorder with headphone return, so i use it for going to my recorder as well.
 
thanks for that Pete, that it a sweet kit. i actually bought my kit used and have all 3 heads and the low cut, but i haven't had a need for the low cut yet.
 
I use it all the time and use my low cut on my 302 only when needed. Always nice to roll off that rumble before it hits the preamp :D

On the grocery store shoot, how were those coolers in the background? Get much hum in your cans?
 
dude... that location was absolutely terrible. all of our placements were right beside a cooler of some sorts, that we couldn't turn off. but atleast the store was closed, although a few times i had to yell across the store to employees that were scanning sale items. but the client was aware of the challenges with sound, so i just did the best i could. i also had a cos11 inside his shirt and the mic as close as possible.

one thing i love about the dslr's is how on the screen it gives you that little gray area that isn't going to "tape". nice little guide for mic placement.

I know what you mean...Did a shoot where the client thought the boom was in the shot. Come to find out, they saw my boom in the "grey zone" and thought that was going to tape. Needless to say, the client noticed how the audio improved ten fold when I got to ride that line more :D

finally, working with a camera that has xlr inputs! seems like 7/10 jobs i do are for dslr's, its nice sending balanced sound to camera!

Still bummed I didn't get a single response for my corny "cardioid arrest" joke ;)

We were literally under a metal onramp to a major highway. Amazing though that it wasn't too too bad unless something big went over us.

Saw the gateway clipper floating by so I had to get this shot. Yes my audio cart was less than 3ft from a fall into the river.
No guardrail, just concrete to the edge and an 8ft drop to a lot of wet gear.
