Photozoom Uprezzed Grabs

I have both Photoshop and After Effects but have never used either for uprezzing until sharky mentioned the unsharp mask. You obviously have taken it further than simply using the unsharp mask. You are layering and blending with photoshop seems like it would take forever. I like the results of everyones contribution to this thread. Seems there is more than one way to "skin a cat"(with apologies to PETA).
 
moblur, simply adding an unsharp mask in photoshop to that image does the same thing as your technique. It leaves the trees in the background noise free. Just take a look at scharky's result with an unsharp mask.
 
For the majority of my work, I also just tend to use Unsharp Mask, but I thought this was also an interesting technique to be able to control both edge vs overall sharpening independantly. I find the technique I described particularly good on portrait work, especially hires potography. Just one more technique for your list !
