Photoshop for CC

I don't know if everyone knew this before but I just found that photoshop can be really good as a CC program and can give some different looks than vegas or MB or other software. I know I could do better than this but heres a quick test I did with photoshop as a CC program

I'm nor sure thats the best cc man. The sky looks very fake around the trees. But yea photoshop can do some great things. Work on it

yea as i said it was just a test to see how it worked for cc... i could do a much better job if i did frame by frame or if i took more time on it i think. The footage looks alright when its moving...in my oppinion. I was just figuring out how to create actions and run batches

But why though? Why not just use the NLE? Vegas has a rockin CC. Do you really want to CC Frame by Frame? Why not just go to the dentist.

Is this a DVX ?

ive been using vegas for CC and I like it alot I just wanted to try out some other stuff...and yes its a dvx...its not however frame by frame. You make actions and then batch them so you only have to actually do them once. It might not end up being worthwhile but it was something to try.

And why does John have something negative to say about everything I say do or think...maybe I'm not up to his standards haha

I do? :undecided

Examples?

Don't be paranoid man! I have something negative to say about everything (I quit smoking recently)

 :cheesy:

How exactly do you use the cc from photoshop and put it into your timeline? Can I do this with final cut? I mean, I thought I could only create layers I can overlay over my image, not apply adobe effects to it...I'd love to know how.

u use virtuadub and export to frames then create an action for your CC(can be lots of steps) and then you go to file>automate>batch and choose your action and the folder the stills are in...then run the stills through virtuadub and bam

I have actually used Photoshop for alot of my recent short film awake. Pretty much for every dream sequence, I found that photoshop is not only awesome for selective color batch processing, but also an extremely powerful chroma keyer. Much more so than vegas itself, and I find it actually better than that of after effects, but here is the thing, you have to write the chroma key action yourself, just like any action in photoshop. But once you have it, it is very easy to batch process. IT isn't fast, but once rendered it is done, and looks much better than what I was able to get from vegas itself. SO for any selective color adjustments, or chroma keying, I now use, photoshop, it is just so much more powerful and adaptable, and slow :) but worth it.

I just started messing around with virtualdub. Do you know of any good Photoshop tutorials on creating the action for the cc? So the only thing you are using vitual dub for is breaking apart the avi into single frames for photoshop to run an action script on each single frame then putting the frames back into an .avi through virtualdub?

Thanks

Yea you got it Kevin, and sorry I don't know any good tutorials or anything...I'm just figuring it out still myself
