great to see all this stuff.. fab thread. people tend to forget how important 1 frame is.

Something I have been thinking about lately; compose your shots when the very first frame and the very last frame of a shot are works of art.

kai is pretty much the master at whatever he touches.. he even has the best bbq restuarant in the north west part of Oahu island in Hawaii.. gotta try it some time.

There's a good little collection sitting on display.

duh sorry should've read your post above mine before i posted my question. (still killer shots though) ;)

Man great shots shadow. Love the last one. Do you recall your lighting scenario on that?

Hello Kai, that was for a bathing suit and lingerie catalogue i did a few year ago, half color, half b&W. I will try to remember:

Background was orange or blue, lit from 3 lights in the bottom under a black velvet at +- 3 feet high to make the horizon line. Main light was a big silver umbrella with Elinchrom flash head, the 2 side lights were small vertical softbox silver too. There was some flag all around the model to cut the flares and that's about it. Film was Kodak Portra 160 and Tri-x.

Hey Jarred, I'm trying to contact you since a few days. I want to order a battery and the DVXUSER t-shirt Navy Large. Can you ship them together and I will send you a check. (cdn) Contact me asap. Thanks.
