This is my first attempt at serious photography (i.e not happy snaps or screwing around with random apetures and shutterspeeds in highschool art class). These are some of my favourite shots

traffic_trail.jpg

This is my personal favourite, I love long exposures.

I like this one also, pretty much on the level with the first one

sunrise1.jpg

I was really pleased with the clouds high in the sky

This one is Ok, but I mainly posted it because I like how the mud looks :)

fluro_train.jpg

I love fluro lighting and I think this shot is really nice

This one turned out pretty good. If I was shooting it again though, I'd use like f8 or bigger because I think the DOF is too shallow

ash_evilash.jpg

This one I did to test out my ghettoDiffusionScreen and ghettoReflector with a halogen work light. I think it looks pretty cool but like the last one I think the DOF is too shallow, although I wanted Evil Ash to be out of focus. Posted this one because I know there's alot of horror fans on this site. Fun Fact: that black backdrop is a tshirt taped to a desk!

Please let me know what you thought of them, go easy though :). Any helpful tips would be welcome too.

I know this isn't a digital camera but what are you using? They look pretty neat. I'm looking at getting back to photography and I'm looking at the digital Rebel XT. Anyway, they look nice. I like 1-4.

Im using a Pentax P30 with a Sigma 35-70mm Zoom lens. Thanks for the comment Bluespider.

EDIT: Just thought I'd mention those stills are just how I scanned them in, haven't adjusted anything in PSP

my XT just arrived today.. should be cool. maybe it will make me a better photographer :)

That said, I just got back from Hawaii yesterday, and my canon digi elph broke, so i went and bought a $100 digital camera from Walmart and it turned out to take some pretty cool photos:

What is this digital photography of which you speak?

I'm still rolling with my Ricoh KR5-SuperII that I bought about 9 years ago. There's not one automatic feature on the damn thing (which is probably why it still works).

Great pics, btw, guys!

manual is the way to go Horse :)

BTW.. this Rebel XT is fast... I dont know if you guys have used the old Digital rebel but it was kinda slow, this ones right up to speed with the 20d.

Speed is a wonderful thing. My girlfriend wanted me to use her camera to take some pics of her and our house the other day. It took roughly 3 seconds from the time you pushed the button until it actually fired. How do people live like that?

We need some battery and t-shirt and see where the hell the guy is ? :cheesy: Nice excuse however.  Belle Brunette !!!

I'm going to place my order soon. I actually played with it and its pretty tiny compared to the other SLR cameras. Still I think iti kicks ass especially for its price. Post some pics of it's quality whenever you get the chance.

Nice pics Jarred, you definetly have an eye!

it is very small, you gotta add the grip to make it feel normal then its good, and you get twice the battery life and can use normal AA's.

hey thanks K, but shes not wearing any shoes?

anyways, you need to upload photos to a webserver then you can click the reply button on the bottom left (not right) to get a visual reply box where you can add photos.
