Photography

Barry, you've got some killer shots there.

That's my favourite from my quick skimming. As I said in my first post I love long exposures and I absolutely love long exposures of rivers (I prefer the Colour one of yours to the B&W, I think that type of shot needs to be colour). I tried to do one of those the other day, but I didnt bring my tripod so it didn't work :( One almost did, but then at the last moment I bumped it and it pivoted on the rock I rested the camera on.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and good to see another member using film and what apeture did you use on that shot, if you remember? Seems like it would be pretty big because you have deep depth of field.

zMike- dude i love the first 2 images..the slow shutter speed stuff is fun! and the shot of the seat in the bus is nice...i need to get me a film camera...film is nice. no, still photo is a hobby...its nice to just be able to go out with a camera and take pics of whatever...digiSLR with 2gigs of mammories is super fun!

S! nice pics. i like your Grand Central Station pic alot.

Thanks Rich Lee, yeah those three are my favourites too. I took these photos for my first film school assignment, and will be using them all except the Ash/Evil Ash one and the second sunrise. The point of the assignment was to take 9 correctly exposed photos in a variety of different light conditions. Also there's a student choice one which I will use the Seat shot (btw, it's actually a train) because it turned out really nicely.

Luckily all of my shots worked out fine, except my several photos of our City Hall at night which all had lens flare from street lights. Doesn't matter though because as long as we can identify what we did wrong and how to correct it (in this case lens hood or something to that effect) I won't have to do it again.

Also, I'm quite pleased that this thread was hijacked now, because now I can feel proud that I created a thread that has spanned for 5 pages already! :)

Rich --Thanks, some good work on your photoblog. Don't get a film camera because it will eat your time and money.

zMike-- I think I shot it at f/16 or f/22. It was a 50mm lens on my Hasselblad, so you really need to stop down to get good depth of field. It was about a 2 minute exposure.

3rd from the LEft is kind of cute; in a heavenly way of course.

id do her, in a heavenly way.

zMike-nuttin wrong with a good hijacking, especialy one that gets jacked in a good way...such as this...

Barry_S- i think it would be cool to have a film camera, next to the digislr...get the settings the way you want on the digicam. lens, f-stop, iso, exposure...then put those settings on the film cam. i say this only because there is such a nice look to film, that it would be cool be able to grab a few film images here and there with out much hassle...

Amazing shots everyone and great thread zMike.

Rich and Barry, you guys have got some mad skills with the stills. Those were the most incredible photos I've seen. I'm lucky to get one good shot from ten thousand attempts.

FYI: In the album there's a photo titled "Meow". I'm not me being sexest, that's actually her name and she's an accountant. That's right, I may not have access to high-speed Internet but I've got access to sexy accountants!

Yeah keep photos coming guys. Like it is becoming anyway, this can be a DVXuser Photo Posting Thread

PK you have to add /images/x.jpg into your links. You just put those up today I see. Very nice. My favourites so far are 'Flower' and 'Sala3'

Wow, Kai we both posted in eachothers threads at the exact minute (hopefully to the second :))

EDIT: Wow again! Those photos are awesome. Do you do that professionally? If not, you should.
