personal boring stuff about being

It took me a year to get over my good friend to where I had that one single day that went by and I did not think about her at all. I'm way over her now. That was years ago. I really don't like making friends with women. They hurt me, not my guy friends. Women are just that way.

Louis CK, on the difference between men and women. "A man will, like, steal your car or burn your house down or beat the **** out of you, but a woman will ruin your ****in’ life. Do you see the difference? Like, a man will cut your arm off and throw it in a river, but he’ll leave you as a human being intact. He won’t **** with who you are. Women are nonviolent, but they will **** inside of your heart."

Strictly my opinion, but I think most men (and women) are looking for mates that don't exist. "Duality" is a funny thing until you decide what you really want... and find a mate who wants the same things out of life.

Of the women who "sh*t inside of my heart"... in hindsight... I realize that was the kind of women I chose, so I shouldn't have been surprised when it happened. I'm no longer conflicted about what makes me happy... and I choose accordingly :)

Or... put another way... strippers and those types are usually heart-sh*tters... not only those, but there are normally some red flags that we ignore early on.

Time heals all wounds is a ridiculous mean ugly cliche that harbors a germ of truth. These wounds do not heal, but do ever so slowly scar over. Our gait's a little different, our psyche irreversibly altered, pains dull but never disappear. Hopefully they are altered and offset with future joys and wonderment not yet known. Grief is one big fat mother ***** of an emotion, highly caustic to the soul. Understand it is inevitable, but also totally selfish. The ability to feel pain is the price demanded for the ability to experience joy.

Heartfelt Best wishes.

This was really touching and so true.

Wow! Gods have pain too?? High on my personal list of the Uber-Talented, your posts are always eagerly sought out. Sure wasn't expecting this one. So this life **** happens to even the special ones. . .

Understand that you are not alone. The soul does not mend in a day. My first love I lost to drugs. The pain and guilt and loss still visits every single day. The second was ripped from my soul by a drunk driver. She rests more comfortably, still remembered and missed o these many years later. Yet had these things not occured, I would not have my present love and our precious son, almost lost just yesterday in a motorcycle crash.

Life is one huge crazy mother we can sometimes influence but never direct. Cherish the good times, perservere the bad, the next acts about to debut.

Heartfelt Best wishes.

wow...amazing post. well said sir.

Do you know why were are such amazing creative people?

PAIN

There's a saying, "you're not a good writer unless you've gone through pain" - I believe it!

Let me get scientific for a moment. Pain = growth. The point of pain, is to learn something. (Stove HOT, Ouch! Bad!... but you don't stop cooking, you learn how to use the stove.) We are creatures of incredible sensitivity... capable of great pain and pleasure... in all our senses. Extremes in these, drive us... those extremes drive us to prevent injury, and to seek happiness.

Pain can damage you... or strengthen you. You do not have to become scared from your pain. If you can understand the cause... let it shape you for the better. I've had relationships that I originally thought scared me... and later realized weren't scars, but rather, new "muscles".

While this is really simplistic (not making it so simple in PMs)... You'll be much better off... long-term, if you focus on the lesson... the opportunity for growth... then the pain.

I feel dumb quoting song lyrics, but these are a much better, more concise way to say what I want:

"And the question is, was I more alive then than I am now?
I happily have to disagree
I laugh more often now, I cry more often now
I am more me."

The whole song is about coping with grief.

I listened to nothing but alternative rock music to get over my pain. I hardly listen to it now.

Hey, I'm new here...

But i had a recent experience, like that... all i can say is "what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger".

Take it as a learning experience, learn from the relationship, use what u learnt to make your next relationship the most happiest one ever. If she left you, she never really truly loved you to begin with. You just need to keep reminding yourself that.

In the meanwhile, find something that can take your mind off it. The pain doesn't go away, but you can search for something that you love to do and direct your energies there (working out helps a lot of guys!).

And don't worry bout not being attractive or what not... girls go for confidence, humour, and stability more than anything else. Mick Jagger is the ugliest guy out there, but look @ how much pu$$y he's gotten lol

[...]one of my buddies was in a similar situation as you... he had bought the ring and everything and was going to propose, but she left him. he never saw it coming. the good news is he rebounded and found another woman and is now a happily married family man.[...]

The even-better news is that gold and diamond prices skyrocketed.

BTW, a good way to look at your life right now is to think of it as a glass containing a foul liquid. It's not possible to simply pour it out. The way to get rid of it is by continuously pouring another liquid (i.e. work, social outlets, learning) into the glass to displace and replace the unwanted swill.

You will only find happiness with someone else when you are happy with yourSELF first. Don't rely on ANYONE else to make YOU happy, because people will almost always let you down.

Do what you like, expand your horizons.

The BEST revenge is moving on and living WELL.

McGretty - he has a point. Until you embrace yourself fully you can never truly embrace another. It's a principle. Otherwise you'll lean on them always to make you feel better and will not have the ability to feel well on your own. You can't walk with someone if they're having to carry you emotionally every step of the way. It all starts within you first.

In the movie "Sabrina" the main character was told to learn to be happy being alone. Once she did that, she was free. Free to be and free to love. It's a principle of life.
