C100: Peripheral illumination correction

I have this set to ON with my Tamron lenses, but under "lens info" there is none listed. Does this mean the correction is not happening?

Thanks

Peripheral Illumination Correction and Aberration Correction only work with select Canon EF lenses.
ok, thanks. I noticed some slight corner vignetting on my Tamron 17-50 even with EF-S mode activated. If it were a Canon lens would I then be getting some correction in this area?

Thanks. Good illustration... I wish Canon would just get acknowledge the fact that some of us use off-brand lenses and allow for some of this technology to to be used. If we buy a). off brand lenses, Canon will benefit from the sale of their compatible cameras b). buy Canon lenses for EF mount cameras Canon will benefit. Of course there are going to be some non-Canon EF cameras + off brand lens sales (Blackmagic, etc.) but I think this is a smaller piece of the pie...

My understanding of PIC is that it doesn't even work on ALL Canon lenses, just select ones. And Canon knows how these lenses "behave", so they can create/write correction software/algorithms/whatever-you'd-like-to-call-it to help compensate or alleviate for the corner/edge fall-off, it's not something being done on-the-fly by the camera, so it can't just work with any 'ole non-Canon lens.
