Ah, ok. I was just confused, because I thought you always use miles. So for running distances its kilometer?

I hope I can catch up quite fast. I used to be a good runner. But we will see, maybe I am too optimistic :D
 
I found that when I dropped the fatness, my run times increased dramatically; breaking the 8:26 mile.

Imagine picking up a 10 or 25 lb plate and then running around or carrying it with you all day. That's essentially the fat weight that needs to go.

Yeah, we're a weird country like that. We do use miles for standard distances for the most part, but not in competitive running, with some exceptions. It usually works out like this:

5K
10K
Half-Marathon
Marathon

However we use the term "one mile" when talking about that distance or when discussing exact distances. Like most will say, I can run "the mile" in such and such time, or, "I just ran six miles today". And when marathons are explained, people use miles instead of kilometers. It's all about context with us. Weird huh?

I think it's not so weired actually. You use miles in normal life but those competition distances are fixed kilometer numbers which would yield in a strange mile number. Weird is only that you don't use the metric system in the first place :D

ya that's crazy to think about!

have you seen "the biggest loser?" after the contestants lose a lot of weight, they have to put on a fat suit that makes them weigh what they used to weigh. They can't believe how managed to get around after re-living a day in the fat suit.

I'm trying to loose baby fat my damn self. That's fat from having a baby that every husband picks up during the 9 months of gestation, and year of sleepless nights. I've dropped 10lbs in the last month boxing and doing p90x. They should really call it p90puke. That first month of that ish is a killer. I still like boxing for an all around workout.
 
I was a member in the past and I guess they give you a great rate when your membership runs out. They started sending me a letter every now and then to renew for $9 per month. This last time was a "sign up for a year and get 2 of those months free".

I go to a crossfit gym, it's different than a Bally's or a 24 hr fitness.

Those types of gyms don't work for me, so instead I shell out the big bucks!

Hahaha. I know of what you speak. I thought about doing p90x, but realized I wasn't in any kind of shape to try it. I'm doing Scooby's basic workout right now and have finally managed (as of yesterday) to do an unassisted pull-up. Hey, I inherited a virtually muscle-free body from my dad, so I'm pretty happy to hit that milestone.

Get back to 10 rep at 80kg (177lbs) benchpress. Out of laziness I fell back to 75kg (165lbs)... right now at 9 reps :(

And run the 5k faster... :D
 
today was killer!

3 Rounds in under 15 minutes (or at least try)

for each round do the following:

500 meter row
12 dead lifts @ your bodyweight (mine is 205 lbs)
21 box jumps (20 inch box, you can also step up instead of jumping)

my time = 13:55
 
For Time:

reps - 10, 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1

Dead lift @ 185 lbs
Bench press @ 135 lbs
Cleans @ 95 lbs

my time - 17:45

Basically you do 10 dead lifts, 10 bench press, 10 cleans...then 9 of each, and so on...
