Everyone likes to look good in their wedding pics.

Me, I've got a college class reunion coming up. People to see, ex-girlfriends to make jealous, etc..

That about sums it up Jeremy.

Another thing to consider is not the weight lost, but the ratio between muscle and fat. Losing weight for some can come back to haunt them if they're not increasing muscle.

And you don't have to be a Cyborg to lift weights, just strength / resistance training to build it; think baseball, tennis players, etc. Not linemen or Arnold types.

I have found the number one way to keep the fat % down is the 5 or 6 meals; crazy thermofuel burn.

Once you throw cardio and weights on ? Sheeeeeetttttttt

It's like MANTINI TIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats inspiring Jack! Whats your routine?

Crystal Meth.

(john ... shhhhh)

Mostly just low carbing it (read: Atkins)

... not much excercise yet other than walking, or being pulled by this behemoth (the dog not the girl)

Everyone I work out with (another great tip, get a cardio partner... just one that doesn't talk because somethings are better to do with the pressence of someone without having to hear them ramble) suggests doing the 5-6 meals a day. This is the BIGGEST problem I have.

I cannot, absolutely cannot eat first thing in the morning. I might as well just take whatever I am planning on eating and throw it in the toilet.

On top of that, I just can't eat more than two meals. I eat lunch and dinner...

I am sure that I could accelerate my weight loss by just adding one more meal, let alone 3-4 more, but I just cannot bring myself to do it (time and fear of public toilet wise).

I have tried the breakfast bars, shakes, and everything else under the sun... Still, doesn't matter.

For right now I'm sticking with my 2 squares a day.

Maybe try little baby steps on the meals in the am ? No one says you have to woof down 425 Calories of an egg white omelette, fruit and oatmeal (What I do).

But

You could try 200-300 small oatmeal bowl and whole wheat toast or something ?

-

Of course, we all have to do what works for us

But

If you COULD do it ?

QUANTAM RESULTS LIKE MADNESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THEY CALL ME MANTINI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just ate my 4th meal of the day

Tuna / Green Beans (no salt) and a few Whole Grain Chips; with a dash of Light Vinegarette

-

Makes Carne Asada on the weekend taste better :p !

-

5 and 6 still due.

Do it J Masta ! = )

i posted a thread about this a couple months ago, but anyone interested in a very challenging and FUN workout program, check out your nearest crossfit affiliate. I've been doing the crossfit program for 9 months now and it's been amazing. I love that I have the strength to do 15 dips on olympic rings, and the flexiblity to hold an L-sit for 10 seconds.

Crossfit is a great program

I throw some of those routines into my program from time to time

CORE strength = goood.

I have been playing soccer in a local rec league and going to the gym off and on for a few years, but I have never felt better than after a good boxing workout.

I trained at a gym in Manhattan for a little while, but it was really expensive. My gym in Hoboken has a heavy bag and a speed bag - I bring my own handwraps, gloves, jump-rope and round timer. It takes a small initial investment (~$125) but I cannot recommend it enough, especially if you are looking to change up your routine. You must learn proper technique first so that you don't hurt your hands (especially if you are a camera operator!!!) but then you can train on your own easily.

At some point I was "jumping rope" a lot at the gym (I'm not sure if that's the way you say in english) and it's incredible how intense it can be...not to mention it beats running in one of those machines. I even bought a rope to start jumping at home...but soon I've discovered my ceilings were not high enough (my girlfriend didn't care for the marks I left on the ceiling).

I think THIS is my number 1 problem. I'm an all or nothing kinda person. So, I don't even bother starting a regimen without doing 1/2 hour of cardio a day and 1-1.5 hours of stretching lifting. Yet, the last few go arounds, my workout plan slowed down to a crawl by week 3 and 4 and stopped completely by week 5. Its because I KNEW I was doing the work in the gym but I saw VERY few results!

I was eating all great foods..oatmeal, chicken breasts, cous cous, brown rice, veggies, tuna etc. But I wasn't losing sh*t...maybe 2lbs. a week. I mean, wtf? Then I traced back what I was doing (or not doing) and the only think I could point to was that I wasn't being diligent about the meal breaks. I just wasn't doing it. I'd come home from the gym have a protein shake and a banana. 3 hours later, I'd have oatmeal. Then, many days, I'd get busy and go right up until dinner time and have chicken breast and rice and that was it. Not enough calories. I think my body was shutting down. Frustrating as hell when you are working out 5 days a week.

So, I really need to try this. And, I need to figure out my optimum number of daily calories I should be consuming. I think its just as bad to eat too few calories as it is to eat too many.

Shoot, I should probably even do it like they do it in the magazines...snap a shirtless man boob photo of myself holding up a newspaper then report back in 12 weeks...
